Anupam is a UK based social work and counselling practitioner who has worked extensively with a wide range of people over 33 years. As a practitioner, he worked comprehensively with dysfunctional children & families, including child protection, and looked after children after migrating to the UK in 1990. Assuming various roles and responsibilities in his career as a practitioner, practice educator, trainer, mentor, and coach, he not only taught but also trained hundreds of students, professionals, and volunteers in translating theory into practice. His talent and expertise lie in his amazing ability to recognize and identify psychological barriers to learning and performing, and to make the transformational journey a pleasant experience for his students and mentees.

Founding Director of Acorn Fostering Services (UK), and Enabling World (India), Anupam’s mission of transformational work with people has now translated into Insight Life Coaching Services in India.

Anupam has an innate talent of ‘conceiving, building and succeeding’ on business ideas. His journey of transforming ideas into success stories commenced way back in 1992, when he associated himself with a network marketing business and achieved an unmatched feat of generating a huge turnover without selling a single product while still working a full time job. Remarkably, his success was propelled by his sheer ability to enhance and train people under him for better performance.

This was one of the reasons he was invited to join the management board of the Asian Counselling Services – a huge platform catering to a wider community in the UK. Anupam wrote the counselling skills training programme using his vast domain knowledge, got it nationally accredited, and trained hundreds of counsellors. He was instrumental in redesigning and reshaping the organisation and its service delivery in line with the ethical and professional standards prescribed by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

With a vast body of related work experience under his belt, Anupam then set out to start his own private foster care agency – Acorn Fostering Service Ltd - in Leicester, UK, in the year 2003. It turned out to be a big success story and is thriving in the UK till date.

Anupam is skilled in the science of transforming people into highly functional individuals, be they school students who undergo tremendous academic improvement as well as overall personality development, or CEOs and directors who witness better employee response in their organizations.

He strives to bridge the chasm between the contemporary world and spirituality and relate the wisdom encapsulated concepts of spirituality in day-to-day situations of modern life. He has worked extensively with students in India through his Performance Enhancement Programmes in the last few years to bring about a change in the learning process. Most of these students have produced tangible results in the form of thumping academic success without putting themselves under tremendous pressure as is the trend these days.

This is one of the first few steps Anupam has taken in his bid to contribute to nationbuilding as a Cognitive Coach. He is bringing his extensive professional experience and expertise, both in business management as well as in the field of professional counselling practice, to set up nationwide Counselling Services in India which are based on global standards and ethical framework.

He has already started on this path by developing four path-breaking wellness programmes that cater to every strata of the society. With his Employee Wellbeing programme, Anupam aims to counter employee related challenges faced by India Inc, by looking after the mental and emotional health of working professionals. The Academic Wellbeing programme is a collaborative proposal to work in partnership with academic institutions in India to help young people of all ages by providing an opportunity to express their concerns and challenges in a safe environment, and build their self-worth. With his Ayush Wellbeing programme, Anupam proposes to work in partnership with health professionals, organisations, and institutions to make a range of nonpharmacological intervention available to patients and their families. The Emotional Wellbeing programme aims to increase the acceptability of counselling as an important therapy among Indian population, and to make confidential, culturally sensitive, and affordable services available to the citizens.

Anupam was neither satisfied nor convinced with the ritualistic format of religion. His inquisitive disposition convinced him that there was more than what meets the eye when it comes to systemized religion. His 30+ years’ journey of spiritual exploration that started at the age of 14 opened him to the study of scriptures and works of many masters. He found his spiritual Guru in Late Swami Chinmayananda of Chinmaya Mission whose highly intellectual, logical, scientific, and rational interpretations appealed to his own scientific temperament and helped him draw parallels between objective science of modern psychology and subjective science of spirituality.
